Location【部位 bù wèi】:

•On the anterolateral aspect of the wrist, between the radial styloid process and the scaphoid bone, in the depression ulnar to the abductor pollicis longus tendon.

Needling【針法 zhēn fǎ】:

Avoid blood vessels, Needle perpendicular 0.3-0.5 cun, without hurting radial arteries and veins. Direct moxibustion is forbidden to avoid damage to radial artery and vein. Moxa stick 3-5 minutes.

Action【功效 gōng xiào】:

Diffuse of lung [宣肺平喘 xuān fèi píng chuǎn ]

Disinhibiting water and regulate the intestine [利水調腸 lì shuǐ tiào chāng]

Clear the throat and disperse swelling [清咽消腫 qīng yàn xiāo zhōng]

reviving the pulse [復脈 fū mài]

•Indication 主治【zhǔ zhì】:

Classical: Cough, wheezing, hemoptysis, lung swelling, chest fullness, breast swelling, heartache, stomach upset, abdominal distension, wind phlegm, irritability, headache, face swelling and pain, eye pain, toothache, shoulder and back pain Pain, wrist pain, weakness, pelvic swelling.
Modern: influenza, sore throat, bronchitis, whooping cough, tuberculosis, chest pain, pulselessness, vasculitis, palpitations, rhinitis.

•Point pair 配穴 [pèi xué] :

LU9-SP3: this point pair is the combination of source points of the tai yin channel. According to Dr. Wang Ju-Yi [王居易] its very useful in boosting tai yin channel qi.
