The 8-8 Zone in Master Tung’s acupuncture is a powerful area for treating a variety of conditions and mainly to treat internal medicine complaints.
As opposed to orthodox Acupuncture, where we can find only few points above the knees, in Tung lineage of Acupuncture this zone is comprised of with so many powerful points. It is a MUST zone to use in the clinic!
On of my favorite dao-ma set of points is [土昌穴] – tǔ chāng 88-06 Earth prosperous
This is a set of 5 points located on the medial surface of the thigh. The first point is located 2 cun medial to tōng shèn 88.10; Second point is located 2 cun proximal to the first point and the rest of points are 2 cun apart from each other.
They treat the Spleen and Liver and useful in the clinic to nourish blood. They also can be used in Liver and Spleen organ diseases such as pancreatitis, splenomegaly, hepatitis, cholecystitis, liver cirrhosis.
