Health is not just the absence of disease

2020 will be forever the year that shocked dramatically our life. all around the globe, the pandemic was heavily influenced our life and led to social and economic disruption, worldwide lockdowns and mass cancellations of events. Our health was under attack and fear and concerns took over our mind.

On December 23, The center for disease control and prevention (CDC) has published a data update about the risk of developing severe disease due to COVID-19 disease and corona virus.

Adults of any age with the following medical condition or life style habits are at high increased risk:

  1. Hypertension or high blood pressure
  2. Overweight (BM > 25kg)
  3. Type 2 diabetes
  4. Heart diseases such as coronary heart disease and other heart diseases
  5. Smoking
  6. Type 1 diabetes
  7. Cancer
  8. COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  9. Chronic kidney disease
  10. Asthma

And the list is longer than the above 10 conditions (see link attached) nevertheless, the above list has one strong connection and common ground for all of it – The conditions above are mainly influenced by our life style habits and our general health.

We all know by now, that age is a an important predictor and risk for death due to COVID-19. Revised and turn back are clock is impossible, however, eat well, exercise and treat our body and mind are things we can control and influence greatly. Does the virus select people by age? the answer is No! The virus effects people with chronic long-term diseases such as the list above. High blood pressure is not being treated by taking medications, but for a change in life style habits which and treatment of the root of imbalance. Using medications in those chronic health conditions makes our medical sheet results looks good but not solving the problem, therefore its a chronic diease which should be managed by other means rather than drugs.

So what can we do? change you diet and nutrient your body. exercise, sleep enough hours and relief stress from your life. The easy solution is to take mediciation, however, with the year your body become more and more vulnerable and you become more dependent on your doctors than for your own self care.

Take responsibly and start to invest in your most important stock- your health. The responsibility for our health is on us, not on our doctors. The responsibility for change is on you.
