HT3: 少海 [shào hǎi] Lesser sea

HT3 is the he-uniting point of the heart channel and the water point according to the five phases theory. this point belongs to the shao yin (lesser yin) channel, and is a water and he-uniting points, that’s why it’s called Lesser Sea.

Location【部位 bù wèi】:

At the same level as the cubital crease, just anterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus.

Note: With the elbow is flexed, HT3 is located at the midpoint of the line connecting the medial end of the cubital crease and the medial epicondyle of the humerus.

Needling【針法 zhēn fǎ】:

Needle 0.5-1 cun perpendicular. 3-5 Moxa cons and 10-15 minutes of moxa stick

Action【功效 gōng xiào】:

Coursing the heart qi [疏心氣 shū xīn qì]

Clear the bao collateral [清包絡 qīng bāo luò]

Peace the spirit and will [寧神志 níng shén zhì]

Transform phlegm and salvia [化痰涎 化痰涎 huà tán xián]

•Indication【主治 zhǔ zhì】:

Heartache, vomiting, numbness in both arms, tremor and elbow spasm, axillary pain, scrofula, forgetfulness, shao yin channel counterflow-qi flow. lymphadenitis, schizophrenia, intercostal neuralgia, ulnar neuralgia.
