通 [tōng] : to go through, unblock, connect
里 [lǐ] : unit of measurement, ward, village
The modern character [裡 lǐ] which means inner or inside is pronounce the same is the classical Chinese character [里 lǐ] and often was being replace. Since [通 tōng] means to connect, its suggest us that its inward connecting- luo point of the channel.
里 [lǐ] is Chinese also means a village, [通 tōng] represents to go through, then the point name indicates a connecting place, a crossroads to the village, which in this case represent the heart organ.
•Location【部位 bù wèi】:
On the anteromedial aspect of the forearm, radial to the flexor carpi ulnaris tendon, 1 cun proximal to the palmar wrist crease.
Note 2: 1 cun proximal to the radial side of the proximal border of the pisiform bone.
•Needling【針法 zhēn fǎ】:
Needle 0.3-0.5 cun perpendicular. 1-3 Moxa cons and 3-5 minutes of moxa stick.

Headache with dizziness, fever, depression, heart palpitations, stiffness in the tongue, throat obstruction, elbow and arm pain, wrist pain, menorrhagia, enuresis, irritability, uterine bleeding, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, acute hyoid muscle palsy, neurasthenia, hysteria.

This shao yin channel, same name point pair used for the stimulation and opening the yin collaterals in the brain, in cases of cognition or speech difficulties. clinically, this point pair is being used for aphasia and early stage of dementia.
