Name【名稱 mīng chéng】:

溫 [wēn] : warm

溜 [liù] : to flow, to slide, glide, slippery

The meaning of the character 留 [liu] is to remain or stay. The character 溜 [liū] with the water radical氵[shuǐ] on the left side meaning to flow. The yang ming is full of qi and blood and the name of the point implies that warm yang qi remains or gather at this point.

Location【部位 bù wèi】:

On the posterolateral aspect of the forearm, on the line connecting LI5 with LI11, 5 cun superior to the dorsal wrist crease.

Needling【針法 zhēn fǎ】:

Transverse-oblique needling, 0.5-1 cum depth. 3-5 Moxa cons and 5-10 minutes of moxa stick

Action【功效 gōng xiào】:

Clear heat evil qi 清邪熱 [qīng xié rè]

Regulate the stomach and intestine 理腸胃 [lǐ cháng wèi]

•Indication【主治 zhǔ zhì】:

Headache, mouth and teeth pain, throat obstruction, puffiness in the face , shoulder and upper back pain, abdominal pain, aversion of wind heat or cold, red and swelling face, madness, swollen limbs, mouth and tongue pain, stomatitis, mumps, swollen tongue.
