•曲 qū : bend, curve, crook, bent
•澤 zé : marsh
•The word marsh suggest that PC3 is a water point of the pericardium channel according to the five phases theory and he-uniting point according to the five transport theory. As well the point is located at the curve of the elbow, where all the he-uniting points are located.
•Location 部位:
On the anterior aspect of the elbow, at the cubital crease, in the depression medial to the biceps brachii tendon.
•Note: When the elbow is flexed at 45 degrees, PC3 is located medial to the biceps brachii tendon.
•Classification 類別:
he-uniting point, water point (合水穴)
•Indication 主治:
heat in the body, thirst with desire for cold drinks, dry mouth, counterflow qi in the hand jue yin channel, epigastric pain, vomiting, diarrhea, hematemesis, rubella, arm, elbow, epistaxis pain, acute gastroenteritis, chorea in children
•Action 功效:
Clear and drain heat (泄熱) from the jue yin channel, quieting the heart (寧心) and downbearing counterflow of qi (降逆)
•Point pair 配穴:
PC3-LV8: Combine the he-uniting point of the jue yin channel when there is impaired qi regulation and counterflow qi in the jue yin channel (Wang Ju-Yi 王居易)
